Festive greetings from the Royal Canadian Air Force

News Article / December 22, 2017

The airmen and airwomen of the Royal Canadian Air Force wish you and your loved ones all the best of this special season.

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule, “Festivus for the rest of us” (as Jerry Seinfield called it), or simply mark the changing of the seasons and, in the Northern Hemisphere, the lengthening of the days after the darkest night of the year, we hope this season brings time for rest and reflection.

As Lieutenant-General Mike Hood, commander of the RCAF, and Chief Warrant Officer Gérard Poitras, chief warrant officer of the RCAF, said in their annual end of year message to the extended RCAF family: “During this holiday season we hope that you will be able to enjoy some well-deserved rest and time with your family and friends . . . No matter what your belief or faith, we hope you will draw strength from the message of peace and joy this season represents. We wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas, happy holidays and all the very best in 2018.”

Don’t forget that the NORAD Tracks Santa website is now online and filled with games, activities, a holiday countdown, and much more. Starting at 2:01 a.m. EST on December 24, website visitors can watch Santa make preparations for his flight. NORAD’s “Santa Cams” will stream videos on the website as Santa makes his way over various locations. Then, at 6 a.m. EST, trackers worldwide can speak with a live phone operator to inquire as to Santa’s whereabouts by dialing the toll-free number 1-877-Hi-NORAD (1-877-446-6723) or by sending an email to noradtrackssanta@outlook.com.
