Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Rémi Nault

Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Rémi Nault is a native of the North Bay, Ontario region, and enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1985 as an Infantryman. His first assignment was with the Second Battalion Royal 22e Regiment in Quebec.

His first 9 years of service was with the Royal 22e Regiment, where he was posted to Lahr Germany in 1988 before returning to Quebec in 1992. During that time he was promoted to Master Corporal (MCpl) and saw deployments to Cyprus in 1987 and the Former Republic of Yugoslavia in 1991.

In 2004, he received a Voluntary Occupational Transfer to be an Electrical Generating Systems Technician which also saw him change elements, and join the RCAF. Upon completion of his trade training in Chilliwack, BC in December 1994, he was posted to Cold Lake, AB. Following his second promotion to MCpl in 1999, he deployed with Task Force Kosovo in December of the same year. Throughout the rest of his career, Chief Warrant Officer Nault’s deployments included 2 tours in Alert, the ice storm in Montreal, Joint Task Force Headquarters Afghanistan in 2010, and a one year posting at the Canadian Embassy in Kabul in 2011.

During the summer of 2000 he was posted to the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineers at CFB Gagetown, and was promoted to Sgt in 2001. Between 2004 and 2007 he climbed the ranks while working with 91 Construction Engineer Flight in Gander, NL as both Recce Warrant Officer (WO) and Flight WO. In 2008 he was transferred to Ottawa with the Aerospace Equipment Program Management, Quality Assurance Section.

Promoted in July 2012 to his current rank, he filled the role of Career Manager for the Construction Engineer trade in Ottawa. In July 2015, he was assigned to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Infrastructure and Environment (ADM(IE)) as both the Formation Chief Warrant Officer for the Canadian Forces Real Property Operations Group, and the Group CWO for ADM(IE).

In June 2017 he was appointed as the Wing Chief Warrant Officer for 4 Wing and CFB Cold Lake.
