Chief Warrant Officer Necole Belanger
Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Belanger enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Military Policewoman, graduating from basic training in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia in 1988.
Throughout her career she has served in all three environments, with postings to Saint-Jean, QC, Borden, ON, Cold Lake, AB, Wainwright, AB, Esquimalt, BC, Joint Task Force Central (JTFC) in Toronto, ON, 1 CAD HQ, Winnipeg, MB, Kingston, ON and Ottawa, ON.
CWO Belanger has fulfilled a variety of policing positions during her career, including being selected as the first Corporal to instruct at the Canadian Forces Military Police Academy. The majority of her career as a MP was spent as a criminal investigator except the four years she spent in Jakarta, Indonesia, when she was seconded to the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development, as the Mission Security Manager for the Canadian Embassy.
In 2011, she was promoted to her current rank of CWO and appointed as the Air Force MP Group Formation CWO. In 2013, CWO Belanger attended the Non-Commissioned Member Executive Professional Development Programme (NEPDP) in Kingston, ON. In 2014, she was appointed as the Strategic Joint Staff CWO. In 2015, CWO Belanger was selected as the CWO for the Strategic Response Team on Sexual Misconduct. CWO Belanger was posted from Ottawa to 16 Wing Borden as the 16 Wing Chief Warrant Officer; and is looking forward to the challenges that her new appointment has to offer
CWO Belanger is a graduate of the Senior Appointment Program (SAP), the Executive Leaders’ Programme (ELP), the Officer Professional Military Education (OPME) programme. She also holds a Bachelor of Military Arts and Science (BMASc) degree, with grand distinction, from the Royal Military College of Canada, a certificate in military studies, and a college diploma in Law and Security Administration from Loyalist College of Applied Arts.
